It always a true pleasure to hear back from readers and to hear a story had some resonance. Thank you for your kind words. Those of us who count ourselves as ‘Arrowheads’ (and we are legion) ruminate long and hard about what might have been if the Arrow had gone ahead.

I just wrote and released Jack Northrop’s Flying Wings which you might also find interesting. Like the Arrow, Northrop’s amazing aircraft may have been scuttled for some really terrible, purely political reasons. I started the piece simply as a fan of Northrop’s work and with a desire to introduce it to those who may not be familiar with it. I then discovered there were some startling similarities between the two stories. In the case of Northrop’s flying wing, short term political expediency may have denied the US a four decade head start on flying wing development. It’s a crying shame indeed and one really does wonder what otherwise might have been.
