Items below appear in reverse chronological order based on the date of original publication.

Experimental Aircraft Association The leading interest and advocacy group for builders and flyers of experimental aircraft — what used to be call ‘homebuilts’ — is the EAA. In July of each year, at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, they host the premier fly-in event of the aviation world: AirVenture. This is the 50th consecutive year at this location. Approximately 10,000 aircraft attended in 2018 — likely more that this year — which made airspace around Oshkosh the busiest in the world while the fly-in is in progress.

Van’s Aircraft If you weren’t scared off by the 23 years it took to build to the RV-6 featured in the original essay, here’s where you get all the information to embark on your own building and flying odyssey. Be forewarned, a browse of their website might also end up costing you a lot of money!
