George Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures Signs First-Look Deal With MGM Variety, April 9, 2019 by Dave McNary. In the film Framing John DeLorean, a number of would-be producers of John DeLorean films are interviewed. Clearly there was no lack of interest in the subject, but it seems like it was tricky getting a film finished. Now, there seems to be renewed interest by no less than George Clooney and Grant Heslov of Smokehouse Pictures. The working title is rumoured to be Stainless, which we think is pretty clever. From the Variety article: “The first film under the new deal will center on motoring engineer and designer John DeLorean, with Clooney set to direct the movie with the possibility of playing DeLorean.
